Vivo launched the Vivo V60 today at noon in India. It features an upgraded chipset, a new 3x periscope, and a larger battery, all in a slim form factor. However, not all golden things are gold. The Auspecious Gold colour looks gorgeous anyway.

My Thoughts

Vivo V60 looks good, comes with good camera hardware, but Vivo just refuses to use UFS 3.1 and LPDDR5X (Storage and RAM) type in the V series. UFS 2.2 Storage and LPDDR4X RAM will not cut at this price. Competition offers LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, and even UFS 4.0 in the case of performance-centric phones from POCO and iQOO.

The irony is Vivo’s own Vivo T4 Ultra, whose specs you can check here, on Vivo’s Website, has a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, UFS 3.1 Storage, LPDDR5X RAM, 50MP Sony IMX882 3X Periscopic-Telephoto!

Meanwhile, Vivo V60 has an inferior chipset, although it is fine, not too bad, but the RAM and Storage type are unacceptable.

Conclusion

Vivo V60 is a beautiful looking good phone ruined by certain choices, rest it checks all boxes for being a good phone at its price, but what it lacks cannot be made up, unless the a price cut. OPPO Reno14 is a good one, but sacrifices on the telephoto being a Samsung JN1, a smaller sensor than what the Vivo V60 has, but it comes back with a more powerful chipset, a MediaTek Dimensity 8350, UFS 3.1 Storage and LPDDR5X RAM! Both are offline-centric phones, so the comparison is being made.
